Get Spanked By Parents or Online Public Humiliation on Facebook?

It must be hard for parents to look after their kids these days.

We’ve all heard about the old news, when a dad shot her daughter’s laptop, and the girl who created a public house party event on Facebook when her parents were away for a trip. Now, we got one more.

A 12-year-old girl posted a photo on Instagram of herself holding an unopened bottle of vodka, with the caption, “I sure wish I could drink this.”

Obviously, her mom, ReShonda Tate Billingsley, found out and got her daughter to post a new picture of herself holding a sign that says, “Since I want to post photos of me holding liquor, I am obviously not ready for social media and will be taking a hiatus until I learn what I should (and) should not post. Bye-Bye.”

Billingsley had previous warned her daughter(who doesn’t have her own facebook account), to be careful of what she post on photo-sharing sites.Billingsley said, “I thought she knew better, but in her mind, she thought, ‘I am not drinking, what’s the problem?’ “

She added, “Because she had been warned, I felt I needed to hit her where it hurt most.”

After the punishment was done, Billingsley said, “She actually asked for a spanking instead; she begged for a spanking,”

Some criticizes on the way Billingsley dealt with it, indicating that it is too harsh.

Do you think it is too harsh? How would you deal with situations like this?

You want to get spanked by parents or public humiliation on Facebook?

Paul Rusconi, Cleared Of Allegations Of Raping His Twin Daughters

When the media covers a story of a parent raping their own children, as the audience, we would curse them and hope for terrible things to happen for the accused.

But what happens if the accused was actually innocent?

Paul Rusconi is a famous artists who took portraits of celebrities and politicians. His portrait of President Barack Obama was once sold for $20,000. He had a great life. Even as a single parent, his works provided enough for his children and himself.

But now, if anyone was to Google his name, they would find more than his recent works. They would find articles that would bring up the tragic past: He was once accused of being a rapist to his own children.

After being cleared of allegations that he raped his 20-month-old twin daughters, the famous Malibu photographer Paul Rusconi cried.

It’s been almost a year since distant family members, the nanny who took care of Rusconi’s two girls, and her husband, accused him of raping his daughters after seeing photos that he had taken of himself with his girls in a bathtub.

The picture above is one of the few that nanny believes to be “child pornography.”

How Starch Will be the Next Major Traded Commodity

Do you remember your first time on a bike? If you do what you probably remember most about it is falling and scrapping your knee, making it into a bloody mess. If you are like me, you would also remember the next 6 weeks: picking at the healing scab for fun at first to see how big of a scab you can pick until you picked that scab that takes off a huge chunk of skin as well and hurts real bad and makes you bleed again. Other fun memories include the fear of taking showers because water getting into your scraped knee hurts like a $%%#@$. Then the last thing you remember is replacing your bandages and having the bandage rip a piece of the scab off and you crying from the pain.

Sadly, those childhood memories may be coming to an end. Researchers at Penn State’s department of food have discovered a way to create fibers out of a starch solution with an electro-spinning device by using a solvent to dissolve starch. The researchers are saying that the fibers can be used for things like clothes, napkins and even bandages! The best part about this is that unlike many new cutting edge technologies; the costs for this are actually low, so production is a real possibility. The reason why it is an inexpensive material is because starch is so abundant and easy to find! I guess this is good news for consumers and starch factories but bad news from cotton farms everyone who’s product will be replaced since starch is a cheaper substitute than cotton. It also means that starch will become a major traded commodity pretty soon.

The biggest news though is the fact that the starch fibers can be spun together to make bandages. What’s cool about bandages is the fact that starch degrades into glucose, something that the human body needs and easily consumes. If they make bandages with this cool new starch fiber, then it would also be biodegradable. The bandage would dissolve when the wound is healed, turn into glucose then have the body absorb it. This means that patients and kids riding bikes everywhere can avoid the painful procedure of replacing their bandages.

This saddens me a bit because for me, picking at stabs and the feeling of having a scab ripped off by a bandage is something I remember vividly from my childhood. It’s sad to say that our children may be growing up without these memories.

What do you think? Are these bandages a good idea or is falling off your bike and picking at scabs a part of growing up?

Bride ‘tricks’ her fiancé into marrying her…by claiming she has cancer.

Well played Jessica Vega, very well played.

Jessica Vega is a 25 year old from New York, who has cleverly decided to use other people’s love and care to obtain her wishes.

Like getting married, for instance.

She is a bride who pretended to have terminal cancer so she could get the man she wanted, and in addition, scam money for the perfect wedding reception and honeymoon.

She will now face felony charges over the deception.

Vega apparently got everyone fooled-including her husband, Michael O’Connel, by telling the perfect sob story: “I’m dying from leukemia. I have less than one year to live. Can we make beautiful (and expensive) memories together?”

By using her community’s hearts, she profited off their generosity. Friends, families and even community members donated everything, from the wedding dress,  to the two-week trip to the Caribbean honeymoon.  She reportedly received thousands of dollars and wedding presents.

U Mad?

Weeks after the wedding, however, the husband finally notices that his pitiful wife’s condition was not getting any worse. In the past, she had showed him a letter from her doctors with the diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia. He proceeds to call her doctor, asking about her condition, only to discover that Jessica Vega, in fact, does not have leukemia.

Hooray!! Apparently the ‘letter’ she waved in front of his face in the past was a forgery!! It appears she’s actually a healthy lady!!

The couple are now divorced over the deception.

The maximum prison sentence for any of the felonies is 4 years. Vega was taken into custody on April 3 in Virginia and extradited to Orange County, where she was arraigned on Friday. She pleaded “not guilty” and was sent to Orange County Jail on $10,000 cash or $30,000 bond. She’s due to appear on April 20 in front of Judge Robert Freehill. The state police assisted with the case.

While it would seem likely that everyone is beyond furious about her deception,  people are actually pitying her. Instead of hoping Vega would rot in prison, family members and friends are hoping she would get mental support and therapy instead. O’Connell is even helping Vega find a lawyer, saying it is only the “right thing to do”. Very kind of him.

Which is interesting and “out of character” of Michael O’Conell, if we were to believe Vega’s story. Vega, at this point, has denied making up the whole cancer story and said she and her husband only separated because he was physically abusive.

So it’s first cancer, and now it’s domestic violence? What other sob stories can this lady think of?
