Ugly Bentley SUV Might Not be so Ugly?

Earlier this week, when the Geneva Auto show started, automotive fans across the world witnessed the recently much rumored and hyped about Bentley SUV being previewed at the Geneva Auto Show.

Many fans were met with disappointment and disgust.

The concept of a Bentley SUV sounded intriguing and interesting to me as an automotive enthusiast; however I was disappointed at how bad the actual concept car turned out. I have never taken any courses on automotive design but Bentley as a brand is not supposed to be edgy, it’s supposed to be conservative and timeless. The styling is hideous to say the least. So many weird proportions going on that make the whole care look really messy. I would say it looks more like something a cheap Chinese car manufacturer would make, not the same car company that makes the graceful and elegant Continental and Mulsanne. So the biggest news of all for me today was reading how Bentley is actually going back to the drawing board to make a few revisions to this car to make it more pleasing to the eyes. In my opinion though, I think they should scrap the whole design and just start from scratch. I think the worst part is not the headlights but the tail-lights. You have a round bulbous design in the front, why do you break up the cohesiveness with sharp lines and square headlights?

Being an automotive freak, I can speculate that this Bentley SUV would probably based on the “Volkswagen Group PL71 platform”, the PL71 platform currently underpins the Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg and the Audi Q7. The speculated Lamborghini SUV would most likely be based on the same underpinnings as well, seeing as how Lamborghini is also part of VW auto group.

I speculate though; being a Bentley and having an emphasis on luxury, the Bentley version would employ a slightly stretched wheelbase for more interior space. The suspension would focus more on having a very refined ride compared to its Cayenne, Touareg, Q7 and future Lamborghini siblings, which all already possess very refined ride qualities to begin with.

The underpinnings sound good, now let’s all hope they redesign this horrendous beast and come up with something classy and timeless, just like a real Bentley.

What do you guys think? Should Bentley go back to the drawing board or do you like this design for being edgy and different? Please look at the source for more pictures and let us know on the comment section below!

Mercedes Introduces Invisible Minivan.

Guess What! Mercedes just announced an unusual automobile.

It is known as the Mercedes Benz Invisible Car (It is actually a minivan). Why it’s called invisible? The vehicle is 100% eco-friendly, as it guarantees 0.00% emissions.

On one side of the car, it is covered with LEDS, and on the other side of the car, there’s a Canon 5D Mark II DSLR camera. The side that is covered with LEDS would then display the image seen on the other side of the car, which creates an invisible effect.

Out of all hybrid and eco-friendly cars, this one must be the ultimate winner!

DRIVERLESS Cars-Mass production 2018: NO MORE ASIAN DRIVERS!

Many years back then, there’s the auto-parking feature, and it was groundbreaking.
Now, the industry is taking things to a brand new level, DRIVERLESS!

We thought we would only see that kind of technology on tv/movies? Definitely not the case anymore.
Depending on where you are located at, you could possibly see people driving one today, but mass production wise-will arrive around 2018. Thats 6 years from now, which is not too far away if you think about it.

Distracted driving is far too dangerous and shouldn’t be tolerated at all times, but it is what we do. Sometimes we eat, we change radios, we talk on phone/ to passengers, all while driving. It is obvious that these distracted behaviours takes away a lot of lives every year. So now, we finally have found a solution to it!!

Lamborghini To Make SUVs

Lamborghini is planning a new model, an SUV. The SUV will be announced at April’s Beijing auto show, hoping for a launch in 2016, if everything goes as planned.

“An SUV could be cool, but it would have to be the fastest on the planet and look extreme,” said Andrew Romanowski, president of the world’s biggest Lamborghini owners’ club, based in Los Angeles.

“If it turned out like a run-of-the-mill BMW X5, it would be a betrayal,” Romanowski said. “People would be very upset.”

“Porsche proved that it works, to the industry’s great surprise, and now everyone is flocking in,” said Christoph Stuermer, Frankfurt-based research director at IHS Automotive.

On the other hand, Bentley is also planning for an SUV model as well,

It turns out that Lamborghini has been loss-making since 2009

Within the next couple of months, Lamborghini and Bentley will decide if their concepts could work.
