Facebook: Pay to be popular! (On the News Feed, at least..)

Do you ever feel like your Facebook statuses are not gathering enough attention?

Do you feel your Facebook statuses deserves more likes, comments, and maybe even recognition from that ‘certain’ person?

Well you don’t have to feel that way anymore!

Facebook is now testing a ‘pay to be popular’ option to make help users get noticed by their friends!!

With just $2, the social networking website offers users a feature called “Highlight” that ensures their posts are seen by more people!

It’s the latest in a sequence of money-making efforts from the social-network giant in an effort to reassure investors before its flotation on the stock market.

The feature is already being tested with some users in New Zealand, with a free version also having been spotted to gauge users interest.

It is believed highlighted posts may appear higher in the news feed, stay visible for longer, and appear to more friends and subscribers.

Efficient way to be spending money/time? If you’re starting your business through Facebook, then we say, go for it. $2.00 for advertisement on one of the world’s biggest website seems like a pretty good deal. If not, please don’t. Experts already believe the feature could simply annoy users, and I concur. The last thing I need are more of my fellow classmates telling me how bad their day is, or worse, highlighting all their heart broken statuses on my news feed…
